Before School, After School and Vacation Care
Before School Care
Before School Care is available for Newcastle Grammar School Park Campus students from 7.15am. Parents are required to sign their child into the centre with the member of staff on duty. Children must have had breakfast before coming to Before School Care. There is no cost for this service. This programme is not suitable for Pre-school students.
After School Care
The After School Care programme is run by qualified Child Care staff and the students are fully supervised. They take part in a range of activities including games, craft, and cooking. Year 3 and above children have the opportunity to do their homework. After School Care operates at Park Campus Practical Activities Room for Pre-school to Year 8. Afternoon tea is provided. There is an additional charge for this service.
All bookings can be made through the Office at Park Campus on 4925 2121 for Pre-school to Year 5, or by contacting the Child Care coordinator or staff on 4925 3755 after 2.30pm. All students attending After School Care are to be formally booked in.
A Vacation Care programme is run each School holiday between the hours of 8.15am and 6.00pm. Students from Pre-school to Year 6 are involved in a range of activities including outings, sport, craft, art, cooking, play, etc. Vacation Care operates in the Practical Activities Room at Park Campus.
Permanent bookings are on a daily/weekly basis and can be made prior to the holiday break. Casual bookings will only be accepted on the day if there are any vacancies. Bookings are made through Park Campus reception during School term only or by contacting the Child Care coordinator and staff on 4925 3755.
ASC is $23.50/day
Vacation Care is $57.00/full day & $33.00/half day
An >Enrolment Record form should be completed and submitted to the School prior to placement.
At both of the School's campuses, The Friends of Newcastle Grammar School operates a modern canteen daily, which provides sandwiches, hot food and a variety of other items for purchase by students.
Parents or family members of enrolled students are invited to volunteer for canteen duty by contacting The Friends of Newcastle Grammar School through the School office.

Newcastle Grammar School is easily accessible from all areas of Newcastle, Port Stephens, Maitland and Lake Macquarie by public and private bus services.
The School runs its own bus services from and to Toronto, Swansea, Minmi & Maitland. The service to and from Port Stephens is shared with other schools.
The Tyrrell Library, as does the whole School, embraces two sites: the Hill Campus and the Park Campus.
The Tyrrell Library operates at both our Hill and Park Campuses.
The Hill Campus library services Years 5 - 12, while the Park Campus library caters for Pre-school - Year 4.
Our collection holds 60,000 items, including a generous selection of Junior and Senior fiction and non-fiction, online resources, journals, digital recordings, ebooks and catalogued pamphlets.
Tyrrell Libraries at both Hill Campus and Park Campus are modern, well equipped Libraries which are evolving to meet the changing information, learning, study and technology needs of our students and teachers.
The Hill Campus Library
8.00am - 5.30pm Monday to Friday on student's school days
9.00 am - 3.00 pm Monday to Friday during the school vacations (except Public Holidays and Christmas Holidays when we are closed).
The Park Campus library operates during school hours.
Our School uniform unites us as a community. It fosters teamwork and School spirit. It is also an outward sign of self-respect, develops self-regulation and allows our students to benefit from a positive image of our School in the wider community. Therefore, the students of Newcastle Grammar School are encouraged to wear their School uniforms correctly and well.

NGS Parent Association
In 2015, a new Parent Committee was established to enable communication between the Head of School and parents. The Committee takes the form of an open forum and any parent is welcome to attend. The Parent Committee are keen to work on some key projects for the School. Meetings are held approximately twice per term and minutes published in the newsletter.
The next Parent Committee Meeting will be held on Thursday, 9 March 2017 @ 6.00pm in the Horbury Hunt Hall - Hill Campus.
Nexus is an annual exhibition of prominent Newcastle artists run by a committee.
The exhibitors are all professional artists, some who lecture and make artworks while others are full time artists.
Join us for the opening celebration of Nexus-2016. This year over 70 local artists have accepted the invitation to exhibit. This is a great opportunity to see some of the Hunter's top visual artists in one exhibition. Art works sold will benefit both the Nexus Paediatric and Adolescent Mental Health Unit at the John Hunter Hospital and the Newcastle Grammar School Visual Arts Department.
The Opening Celebration is a free event. All welcome. Friday, 13 May 2016 @ 7.00pm

Extra hands are always welcome particularly on opening night which is a big event of the Newcastle community. Friends of the NGS Rowing Supporters
This is a fundraising and social group made up predominantly of Rowing Parents & Carers.
With an elected Committee, they organise at least two functions each rowing season, previously including Race Days at the Newcastle Jockey Club at Broadmeadow, Trivia nights and other social nights.
Your support would be very gratefully received and you will find the whole group very friendly and sociable - whether you're a rowing family or not. Please contact the Rowing staff for more information.
