Come and Work At Newcastle Grammar

At NGS we place tremendous importance on finding the best people to join our team.

Exceptional Opportunities

Newcastle Grammar School (NGS) is the pre-eminent co-educational Independent school in the Hunter Region for students from Kindergarten to Year 12.

Our teachers are outstanding. Selected for their professionalism and expertise, and then continually grown and upskilled to create an unrivalled standard of education to our students.

Our students are adaptable, resilient and confident – they want to engage with a rapidly changing world around them and live purposeful lives.

Academically, you will find that our students are committed to their learning and striving to become the very best that they can be. This is reflected in outstanding results in HSC courses, NAPLAN, academic competitions and in the determined atmosphere of every classroom.

NGS is deeply committed to helping its staff succeed in the new hybrid teaching and learning world. We have made significant investments in ICT technology — including high-spec laptops for teachers and rolling out video-conferencing equipment in our classrooms.

The Board of NGS is investing heavily in our future by building world-class teaching and learning facilities, including following Stage 1 of a whole school Masterplan.

Student wellbeing is at the heart of what we do and to that end we are a Visible Wellbeing partner school. This means that you will be well trained and supported in your work to help all of our students effectively manage their mental health and social wellbeing.

NGS pursues many innovative programmes across the school — from membership of Round Square, which gives our students and staff global connections and activities, Visible Wellbeing (see above), partnering with the AIS NSW to implement Michael Fullan’s Deep Learning and the unique myNGS Passport Co-curricular programme — we strive to offer our students the very best opportunities and experiences.
