Primary Language Teacher (Mandarin) Part-time

The Role

An opportunity now exists for a Primary Language Teacher to join our team of hard working, dedicated professionals. Located within our Junior School, this part-time teaching position will commence midway through Term 1. We are looking for a passionate and professional educator with experience teaching Mandarin to students in Years 1 to 6, with demonstrated success in an environment committed to excellence

You are a passionate educator who:

  • Has experience teaching Mandarin;

Temporary Secondary Science Teacher Full-time (12 months)

The Role

An opportunity now exists for a Science Teacher to join our team of dedicated professionals. Located within our Science department, this temporary full-time role is available for commencement at the beginning of Term 2 for twelve months. It is a varied and challenging role that will provide the right candidate with a high degree of professional satisfaction. The ability to teach Year 7-10 Science and Year 11 Biology would be an advantage.

Maintenance Services Officer 

The Role

A full-time opportunity now exists for a Maintenance Services Officer to join the Property Services team. The Property Services Department is actively engaged in supporting the efficient and effective running of the School’s day to day operations through effective maintenance and operational support.

The successful candidate will be a competent, capable and caring individual who is able to work cohesively as a team player. The candidate will display and be able to evidence a strong commitment to the School’s values – Respect, Integrity, Service and Excellence - and will present and communicate in a welcoming and professional way with School stakeholders including students, staff, contractors, parents and the broader School community.

The Property Services Department is responsible for working across a variety of spaces conducting a range of tasks such as:

  • Painting
  • Low risk repairs and maintenance (ie light tube replacement)
  • Minor carpentry and plumbing repairs
  • Door repairs including handles, locks and hinges
  • General handyman duties
  • Landscaping including mowing, hedging, pruning and using a variety of other landscape power tools
  • Event set up and support including setting of chairs and tables for assemblies and large gatherings, offsite events etc
  • Furniture relocations
  • Receiving and delivering parcels
  • Working knowledge and history of applying safe work practices in a property environment including using SWMS, identifying and mitigating safety issues/practices

About You

You will have:

  • A valid Working With Children Check (essential)
  • Experience and knowledge of a diverse range of hand and power tools (essential) 
  • A current Senior First Aid certificate
  • Trade qualifications in carpentry, maintenance plumbing, horticulture or prior experience in a similar independent school role will be considered highly
  • A valid White Card or OHS induction certificate from other states is advantageous
  • Electrical Tagging certifications (advantageous but not essential)
  • LR driver’s licence (advantageous but not essential)

This is a full-time permanent role working across the School’s two Campuses (located in Cook’s Hill and The Hill). The role has been assessed as a Level 1 General Hand under the School’s current MEA (the Independent Schools NSW (Support and Operational Staff) Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2021). Remuneration will be considered where a specific skill or trade qualification of interest to the School is confirmed. Salary range, excluding Super is 56 – 60k. Opportunities for overtime and associated allowances are applicable.

Canteen Assistant - Casual

The Role

An opportunity exists for a Canteen Assistant to join our team on a casual, two day / week basis. The role will work in our Hill campus (Years 5-12) on a Wednesday and Thursday from 8:30am – 12:30pm. 

In this role, you will be responsible for duties such as: 

  • assisting in the preparation of healthy wholesome food to be sold through the canteen,
  • maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene in the canteen,
  • assisting other canteen staff with sales, both in person and via the Flexischools app.
