Parent Association & Involvement

Parent Association

In 2015, a new Parent Committee was established to enable communication between the Head of School and parents.

The Committee takes the form of an open forum and any parent is welcome to attend. The Parent Committee are keen to work on some key projects for the School. Meetings are held approximately twice per term and minutes published in the newsletter.

Fundraising & Events

Nexus

Nexus is an annual exhibition of prominent Newcastle artists run by a committee. The exhibitors are all professional artists, some who lecture and make artworks while others are full time artists.

Join us for the opening celebration of Nexus-2017. This year over 80 local artists have accepted the invitation to exhibit. This is a great opportunity to see some of the Hunter's top visual artists in one exhibition.

Art works sold will benefit both the Nexus Paediatric and Adolescent Mental Health Unit at the John Hunter Hospital and the Newcastle Grammar School Visual Arts Department.

The Opening Celebration is a free event. All welcome. Friday, 5 May 2017 at 6.30pm to 8.30pm.

TWO DAYS ONLY Exhibition Hours: 11.00am-3.00pm Saturday, 6 May and Sunday, 7 May.
Location: Newcastle Grammar School Level 2 Holland Building Newcomen Street Newcastle.

Get Involved

We would welcome anyone who has interest or expertise in the area or who would just like to be part of an exciting event. Extra hands are always welcome particularly on opening night which is a big event of the Newcastle community. The Coordinator of Visual Arts, Music & Drama would like to invite any interested parents to join the committee. Please contact the Coordinator of Visual Arts, Music & Drama for further information.
